Third Annual BEST IN SHOW was a success!  - Thanks to Jill Warner and all our friends at Mod Livin' Gallery who worked so hard to make the Third Annual BEST IN SHOW fundraiser such a fantastic event!

Marti's story....Marti the cat came to the Downtown Animal Care center with an obvious problem. Her tail was dead. The result of a months old car accident, Marti's tail had rotted and was threatening to spread infection to the rest of her body.  Marti’s owners, an elderly couple devoted to their cat, couldn’t afford the $233 amputation fee on their meager Social Security income.

Luckily, the Downtown Animal Care Foundation's matching funds program was there for them. The Foundation agreed to pay half of the cost of the operation, allowing Marti to bid farewell to her damaged tail, and leaving her parents with a much more affordable $116 bill.

What we do...
The Downtown Animal Care Foundation (DACF) was created to help low-income Coloradans cover emergency vet bills. We help conscientious, committed pet owners who are willing to take on financial responsibility for their pets’ care – but just need a little help.

The Downtown Animal Care Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization. We work exclusively with the Veterinarian staff at the Downtown Animal Care Center.

MISSION STATEMENT

• assisting low-income families and individuals in accessing veterinary care for family pets by providing matching funds for that care;
• subsidizing examination and surgical space and equipment provided to veterinarians who are donating their time, or who are providing time at reduced rates for animals in need;
• providing emergency health care, adoption services, and spay and neuter services to stray, abandoned or relinquished animals.
