General InformationThe Downtown Animal Care Foundation provides funding in the form of matching funds and grants to assist low income families in getting the veterinary care they need for their pets and to provide care for stray, abandoned or relinquished animals. The Downtown Animal Care Foundation does NOT provide veterinary care. We work in conjunction with the Downtown Animal Care Center which is a for-profit veterinary hospital which provides low-cost veterinarian care to the general public. The DACF makes matching funds available to qualifying low-income individuals and families based on referrals from the Downtown Animal Care Center. The criteria for a matching grant is made on a case by case basis by the board with the following items considered:
The Downtown Animal Care Foundation also has a program that donates $250 per relinquished animal to help offset medical costs for those animals who are abandoned at the clinic, nursed back to health, and later put up for adoption. The Downtown Animal Care Foundation is a completely VOLUNTEER run organization -- so you know your money is going to care for the animals! To donate, please click here. Or call the Downtown Animal Care Center and leave a message for the Foundation board: Top of page |
